RDA at GSTCE 2026: Prof Yonggang Wen to Speak on the Future of Space Data Centres

Singapore, 4 May 2026 — Red Dot Analytics (RDA) is pleased to announce that Prof Yonggang Wen will be speaking at Global Space Technology Convention & Exhibition 2026 (GSTCE 2026), taking place on 13–14 May 2026 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Organised by the Singapore Space & Technology Ltd, GSTCE is one of Asia’s leading platforms for space technology, research, innovation, and international collaboration, bringing together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, investors, and technology pioneers from across the global space ecosystem.

The 2026 edition of GSTCE is centred around the theme: “Commercialising Space: Driving Economic Value Across Industries”

The conference explores how space technologies are increasingly transitioning from research-driven initiatives into commercially viable infrastructure and strategic enablers across industries including communications, sustainability, defence, mobility, AI, and digital infrastructure.

Against this backdrop, Prof Wen’s session will examine how the future of compute infrastructure may evolve beyond conventional terrestrial limitations as AI demand continues to scale globally.

As part of the conference programme, Prof Wen will deliver a presentation titled:

“From Lab to Launch: Partnering to Build Space Data Centres in Singapore & Beyond”
📅 14 May 2026   🕔 1:20 PM – 1:30 PM   📍 Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

The session will explore the long-term evolution of digital infrastructure as AI-driven compute demand continues to accelerate globally. As industries increasingly face constraints around power availability, cooling efficiency, land scarcity, and sustainability, space-based data centres are emerging as a growing area of research and strategic interest.

Drawing from both academic research and industry perspectives, Prof Wen will share insights into how orbital and space-enabled compute infrastructure may complement future digital ecosystems, while highlighting the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, policymakers, and technology innovators in shaping the next frontier of sustainable computing.

The session will also examine broader themes surrounding AI infrastructure, energy sustainability, sovereign compute capabilities, and the future resilience of digital infrastructure in an increasingly AI-driven world.

Prof Wen has been at the forefront of sustainable data centre research for many years, spanning initiatives from tropical climate data centre optimisation to emerging research in space-based computing infrastructure. His work continues to bridge academic innovation with practical industry applications across the digital infrastructure sector.

RDA is proud to support conversations that push the boundaries of next-generation digital infrastructure and contribute to the future of sustainable, intelligent, and resilient computing.

We look forward to connecting with industry leaders, researchers, ecosystem partners, and innovators at GSTCE 2026.

More updates and event highlights will be shared soon.
